OpenCanopyIconPacks

This repository contains icon packs intended for use with the OpenCanopy GUI frontend for OpenCore. The packs contain files in Apple .icns file format selected from the range of icons available at the OpenCanopyIcons repository.

Please consult the OpenCore documentation for guidance of how to use these.

Notice

Due to OpenCanopy being experimental and subject to changing requirements and mandatory icons I feel the process of generating these icons packs leads to packs becoming out of date and needing time to update and rebuild. Due to this, I will therefore no longer support these icon packs, at least for the time being, but I'll maybe favour some automated way of generating sets of icons from the main OpenCanopyIcons repository.

For reference, the existing BOCIP_3 icon packs have been updated to include Left and Right icons for OpenCore 0.6.6, but all others are older and NOT up to date for recent versions of OpenCanopy.

Simple Icon Packs

OpenCanopy will automatically detect and use the icons in these packs without any work needed by the user, other than installing them in the correct place to begin with.

From OpenCanopyIcons Set1

Front lit matte icons with soft shadows

From OpenCanopyIcons Set2

More subtly lit icons than Set1, with increased level of reflectiveness

From OpenCanopyIcons Set3

Studio lit icons, brighter than Set2, with higher level of reflectiveness and narrower devices to better match the shapes of the latest Apple device icons

Special editions, where changes have been made to the Set3 studio

From OpenCanopyIcons Set4

Flat-style icons, viewed from above

Extended Icon Packs which require user set up

These icon packs contain the same base icons as the non-extended pack, but also extra OS specific icons which the user can use to further customise their devices.

Please note though that OpenCanopy will not use the extra icons automatically. Instead, the user will have to choose which icon they want for a specific device, place the file at the root of the desired volume and rename the file to .VolumeIcon.icns. Please consult the OpenCore documentation for further guidance.
