method_reload

(C) John Mair (banisterfiend) 2011

fine grained code reloading

method_reload enables you to reload method code on the fly. It precisely targets the code of the method - it does not reload the entire file.

method_reload provides the Method#reload and UnboundMethod#reload methods.

Example: Example

class Hello
  def hello
    puts "hello world"
  end
end

Hello.new.hello #=> "hello world"

# file edited here and "hello world" changed to "goodbye"

# now we reload
Hello.instance_method(:hello).reload

# now we test
Hello.new.hello #=> "goodbye"
