Permafrost

• GTNP - Global Terrestrial Network for Permafrost, Active layer depths and borehole temperatures

Sea Ice

• Arctic Sea Ice Data analysis tools - NSIDC G02135 indices for sea ice extent and area by regions. Monthly and daily data

Greenland

• Automated weather stations, data across Greenland, such as temperatures, or, from a sonic ranger, using height_stakes or HeightStakes(m), data on ice melt
• Promice.org is a well maintained source of data around Greenland, ice sheets, water runoff
• Danmarks Meteorologiske Institut Greenland Meteorological Observations, a fantastic API to access met, ocean, and climate data from Greenland for multiple decades. Bulk download (> 200 GB when uncompressed) and live RESTful API, registration required but free of charge.

Canada

• River discharge historic data from across Canada

CO2

• Atmospheric and Ice record merged CO2 data from the year 13 to present
• The Mauna Loa, Hawaii, CO2 record from 1958 to present, often referred to as the Keeling Curve

Temperature (and/or precipitation)

• World bank climate data - World bank climate data (Temperature and precipitation) by country

• NOAA Temperature Anomalies - Temperature anomalies by hemisphere, land and ocean. 1901-2000 average is reference for anomalies
• NASA GISS - NASA Surface temperature analysis - Anomalies and trends. 1951-1980 average is reference for anomalies
• Berkeley Earth - Temperature data for up to centuries and, if desired, high spatial resolution
• National Centre for Atmospheric Science/Earth Observation weather and climate data
• German Met Office (Deutscher Wetterdienst) Open Data has multiple indicators and data for Germany
• The International Arctic Buoy Programme provides access to historic and real time measurements from buoys deployed in the arcitc
• The British Antarctic Survey also operates buoys in the Arctic and makes their data incl. video feeds available.

Phenology/Plant blooming datasets

• Kypto Cherry blossoms - Cheery Tree blossoming dates data in Kyoto city. Note the data is actually on the page, the download links contain outdated files
• France wine blossom allows you to search for e.g. wine blossom dates across multiple years and regions
• Germany wine blossom wine blossom dates across multiple years and regions

Reference Data

• United Nations World Population Prospects has population data and forecasts. Also a good source for regions, region names, and countriy naming
• WorldPop has various datasets relating to population, mapped to geospatial grids
