About

Deployment Tests

Animechan.io is an evolving project aims to deliver a variety of anime information through a straightforward API interface. Currently focused on providing anime quotes, we are actively developing new features to expand its offerings and transform it into a more comprehensive public API.

History

[!NOTE] Major updates of the project since its inception:

  1. Year 2020: Developed the API using KoaJS and deployed the backend on Heroku, with the frontend implemented in NextJS and hosted on Vercel.
  2. Nov 2022: Moved server-side hosting from Heroku to Render due to Heroku discontinuing their free dyno plans.
  3. Jun 24, 2023: Relocated both backend and frontend to AWS and acquired the new domain, animechan.xyz.
  4. Dec 21, 2023: Open-sourced the API's backend server code.
  5. Feb 04, 2024: Migrated the database to PlanetScale.
