FAQ
I get stucked on Clover, whether keyboard or mouse gives no response
If you encounter this problem, you may go to BIOS and enable CSM Support
. Once you finish setuping the macOS, you may turn it off and try again
Some applications like Chrome or Hackintool become freezing after waking up from sleeping, and unable to play videos
Currently it's a well-known problem happened on S200. After talking with other hakintosh experts, we still have no idea and the effective solution
HEVC is not presenting, the hardware and BIOS configurations are all correct
Refer to Issues #5, you may manually download the newer version of Lilu and Whatevergreen, unzip them and replace stock kext in /EFI/CLOVER/Kexts/Other
Screen artifacts or flickering present in some working load
Fortunately, most users won't have this problem except the boot stage. This is because some displays may have compatible problems connecting via HDMI, if you are still facing this issue after replacing displays, please refer to Issues #3
Can I add discrete graphics? NVIDIA or AMD? Which one is better? And where can I buy the dock
NVIDIA webdriver isn't compatible with macOS 10.14 Mojave and above, unless you want to try some old stuff (eg. GT710), so AMD is always recommended. If you don't know which one is suitable, please refer to the list of compatible AMD graphics in macOS. The dock I buy is from Taobao, you can also make your own dock if you are interested in. If you want more information and discussion about dock and dGPU, please go to Issues #10
Does this EFI support OTA updates in macOS? For example, from 10.15.4 to 10.15.5, or even 10.16 in future
OTA usually survives in minor updates, but that does not mean you will never face tiny bugs or even boot failure after upgrading. Here is what you can do before (and after) upgrading:
- Disable auto updates inside macOS
- Make sure you backup your personal files
- You may go to forums or Issues to see if there are any successful or failed update results
I'm sorry that this repo is gradually being stoped maintaining due to lack of testing machine. So smooth upgrade to 10.16 without any issues by only using this EFI would never (or let's say 0.01% survival rate) exist
I meet other problems in using macOS by this EFI
You may refer to Issues to check if others meet the same situation. Otherwise you may create your own issues. Great suggestions and bug reports are always welcomed
Is there any invitations in any forums which talk about S200 NUC
Yes, I have searched some forums, here is what I find:
Where can I buy S200 NUC
Sellers have no relationships with me, my jog is to create a better hackintosh environment for S200 NUC
A reward
The continuous maintenance and updates are all made for free, but you can buy me a coffee if you want
