We have two separate Getting Started guides for maintainers and subscribers. Check out our FAQ for extra help.

Installing the Addon

AnkiCollab Add-on Page

Before you start, make sure you are using the latest version of Anki found here. If you've never used Anki before, there is a great Getting Started guide in the Anki manual.

Every add-on in the Anki ecosystem is installed using an add-on code. AnkiCollab's code is 1957538407.

If you ever lose this code, you can always find it on AnkiCollab add-on page. Scroll down a bit and you'll find it in a little box.

Inside of Anki desktop app, go Tools → Add-ons → Get Add-ons. From here, a box should pop up where you can enter the code.

Click OK and relaunch Anki to finish the installation.

You can confirm that the installation was successful by checking the toolbar for AnkiCollab.

Credits

This project would not be possible if it wasn't for the great work others have put in before me. 2 people that I want to mention at this point and give credit to are

  1. Stvad for their incredible work at CrowdAnki
  2. abdo for their helpfullness on the anki forum and the media exporter used in this project
